A former Merrill Lynch financial adviser was sentenced to three-and-a-half years in jail for swindling clients out of more than $3 million.

Marcus E. Boggs, 51, of Chicago, was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Mary Rowland on Thursday, who also ordered Boggs to pay more than $3.08 million in restitution to the victims.
