All of Chicago has been anticipating this moment for months.  Hundreds of people gathered around TVs, radios and the internet waiting for the big announcement.  In a very unspectacular moment, Chicago was eliminated from the running in the first round of voting.  Mostly sad faces departed Daley Plaza after the announcement.  Some speculate that there was not enough public support.  Others feel that we tried to pull out too much of our political power to try to win the bid.  No matter the reason, the anticipation is over.

UPDATE: Rio de Janeiro has been awarded the 2016 Olympics
