The Chicago City Council on Wednesday approved Cook County property tax incentives that will enable the redevelopment of four industrial and commercial properties for business uses, which the mayor’s office estimates could create up to 1,000 jobs.
Those properties include a Class L property tax incentive for the former Morton Salt Co. warehouse at 1357 N. Elston Ave. The incentive will be used to convert the historic industrial complex into a $46 million commercial and entertainment venue.
