HARVEY, Ill. — Police are investigating after a 3-year-old girl was shot and killed Thursday night in Harvey.
At around 7 p.m., police responded to a home in the 15300 block of Lexington Avenue.
An official said a 3-year-old girl was shot through the window of a residence and later died.
A church pastor down the street was locking up for the night when he heard two gunshots and then screaming.
“I see the mom and the baby in a doorway in the room in a pool of blood,” said Rev. Jonathan Johnson. “It’s a horrific experience to see, these are members are the church.”
It’s unknown if any suspects are in custody at this time.
