CHICAGO (CBS) – – A Chicago police officer is charged with aggravated battery and attempted murder after discharging a firearm Sunday.

Police said on October 10, 2021, he was identified as one of the offenders who around 3:42 a.m., discharged a firearm in the direction of numerous people in the 1500 block of N. Milwaukee.

The officer was later arrested around 7 p.m., in the 3300 block of W. Monroe.

The offender was placed into custody and charged accordingly. No additional information is available at this time.
