An off-duty Chicago police officer was shot Tuesday afternoon on the Northwest Side, according to a police source.
The circumstances of the shooting were not immediately known, but the source said the shooting occurred shortly after 3 p.m. near the intersection of Addison and Elston.
The officer — a female — was taken to Illinois Masonic Medical Center, though her condition was not immediately known.
