The man was shot in the head after he answered the door of his home in the 2000 block of West 83rd Street.
A man was shot to death Wednesday morning in Auburn Gresham on the South Side.
About 2 a.m., the 60-year-old heard the doorbell and answered the front door of his home in the 2000 block of West 83rd Street, Chicago police said. A family member heard a gunshot and found the man laying in the doorway with a gunshot wound to his forehead.
He was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. He has not yet been identified.
Area Two detectives are investigating.
