Exelon Corp. now says it won’t close its Byron and Dresden nuclear power plants in northern Illinois thanks to action taken by the Illinois Legislature on Monday.

The Chicago utility (Nasdaq: EXC) had threatened to close the plants last year unless action was taken by the Legislature.
