Ford Motor Co. said it’s adding three Explorer models: one for enthusiasts, a luxury rear-wheel drive model, and a hybrid.
Ford (NYSE: F) builds all of its Explorer sport utility vehicle models in Chicago, and said the three models include the Explorer Enthusiast ST by Ford Performance; a rear-wheel-drive luxury Platinum Explorer; and a hybrid-powered Explorer.
The Explorer Enthusiast ST model has a 400-horsepower, specially tuned 3.0-liter EcoBoost engine with a top speed of 143 miles per hour.
