The girl was inside a home in the 10000 block of South Lafayette Avenue when someone approached her and fired shots, Chicago police said.

A person was being questioned by police after a 15-year-old girl was shot Thursday afternoon inside a Fernwood home on the South Side.

The girl was inside a home in the 10000 block of South Lafayette Avenue about 2:45 p.m. when someone approached her and fired shots, Chicago police said.

She was struck in the leg and transported to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn in good condition, police said.

Detectives were questioning a person of interest.
